Established in 2005 by Decree of the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) No. 1340/D/T/2005, the Master of Linguistics Program is a two-year academic program. The Master of Linguistics program has developed an internationally oriented curriculum and activities. The curriculum and learning content of the Master of Linguistics program are oriented to international standards and are offered through the applied linguistics and general linguistics departments. English is the language of communication in class and for all course assignments, including the writing of the master’s thesis. The program has welcomed international students from the Czech Republic, Kenya, Algeria, Thailand, Pakistan, Madagascar, Myanmar, Egypt, and Sudan who are currently studying or have completed their studies in the Master of Linguistics program.

The Master of Linguistics program prepares human resources (lecturers) with international qualifications by facilitating study abroad, participating in international seminars, inviting guest lecturers from foreign universities, and conducting collaborative research with foreign universities.

The Master of Linguistics program also prepares its students to possess international competencies by enhancing their public speaking skills, academic writing skills, conducting research, and participating in various international seminars. Furthermore, students are involved in practical activities conducted by lecturers through research, community service, and international scientific presentations, ensuring their readiness to work internationally.

Since 2019, the Master of Linguistics program has been accredited with an A grade by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) and international accreditation by FIBBA, Germany, demonstrating the program’s excellence in national and international recognition.
